TOO MUCH POPCORN! The Reel Rhino's FAT OLYMPICS 2016 (STAGE I)

Okay, so FAT OLYMPICS doesn't scream I WANT IN ON THAT, but someone named it as such, so it shall be, in honor of our fellow American athletes down in RIO!

And for me at the moment, using the term athlete has come to apply PRETTY LOOSELY! As I mentioned on FaceBook last week...my recent debauchery has left me feeling....well...


It needs to stop...now. I want to live!! 

I love a good gimmick and in my heart, I am a competitor...which inspired me to form this GET FIT COMPETITION!

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR FAT OLYMPICS 2016

On PayPal there is an option for sending friends $$$ so there is no charge involved. That is the method that you should use so we don't lose money in this endeavor...you must have PAYPAL TO PLAY

On any payment...in the "note" area, indicate your name in case I don't recognize your e-mail...and the city in which you are located.

$100.00 INITIAL BUY IN

Yes, you should only theoretically have to pay $100 to play...and if all goes well...you'll get $50 of it back (see below in payouts). But, like M Night Shyamalan and Chubby Checker...the ReelRhino likes the TWIST!!
  • $10.00 penalty for a week that contains alcohol use

  • $10.00 penalty for a week that contains tobacco use

  • $5.00 penalty per fast food meal (C'MON!! THIS SHOULD BE MORE!!)

  • $5.00 penalty per day without exercise, consisting of a minimum of a 1 mile walk -- YES...YOU CAN WALK AT LEAST ONE MILE A DAY!
  • ***The mile a day walk can be found in many equivalents. Yoga, biking, swimming, weights, etc...the deal is...exercise in some form every day.
  • ***The mile a day walk cannot be you walking around as a part of your daily routine...it is walking or exercise of some kind strictly for exercise...or...some mitigating activity that adequately taxed you for the day (ex. You go to Disney for the day, or the Zoo, etc...that's a lot of walking...it can count).

  • $10.00 additional buy-in per weigh-in period if you have 0 lbs weight loss or weight gain in a week

  • $20.00 additional buy-in if your weight goes up 10 lbs or more from your initial weight-in at any point during the contest

PENALTIES SHOULD BE PAID IN ON A WEEKLY BASIS OUR WEEK RUNS MON - SUN
The next MONDAY is PAY-UP DAY

By the end of each MONDAY all penalties should be paid so I can update the running pot by Tuesday on this site.


INITIAL WEIGH-IN IS 07/18/2016 - 07/25/2016
YOU NEED TO WEIGH IN CONSISTENTLY FROM THE SAME SCALE

Whatever day you weigh-in is when it begins for you...do you need a couple more days of eat as you like...take it. But weigh in by midnight on the 25th.

You will weigh-in and track your weight on MyFitnessPal...this is a great tool for tracking fitness and exercise. You will use RunKeeper or MyRecord to track your exercise. This may be tweaked as we go along to simplify...I'll keep you posted.

Both of these apps are free and easy to use and it will keep all involved in the same system to track.

Initial Weigh-In: By 7/25/2016
1st Weigh-In: 8/8/2016
2nd Weigh-In: 8/22/2016
3rd Weigh-In: 09/05/2016
4th Weigh-In: 09/19/2016
Final Weigh-In: 10/3/2016

THIS IS AN HONOR SYSTEM COMPETITION...THE GOAL IS HEALTH...and among friends...some $$$ to make it interesting!

PAYOUTS:

ANYONE WHO LOSES 10% or more...you get $50 bucks back on your buy-in

MOST POUNDS LOST gets all of their original buy-in (minus penalties)

After that is cleared up...
1st Place (highest % lost): 50% of the remaining pot
2nd Place (2nd highest % lost): 30% of the remaining pot
3rd Place (3rd highest % lost): 20% of remaining pot

This was me in 2013:


I was under 300 lbs and it all started by walking 1-mile a day, from January 1st that year onward...it escalated into running at least a 5K-a-day from about Feb. 1st through the end of June...then I stopped...and you can scroll back up to see what I have become.

BTW...the picture above, if you were wondering, it USA Olympic Gold Medalist, Kayla Harrison, Judo 2012...and my friends Ross and Kevin. I thought it was appropriate given our theme!
